Ganduje set to implement new minimum wage before end of the year –thenignews
Kano state government under the administration of Governor Ganduje, has set up a committee for the review of implementation of new minimum wage before the end of 2019.
In an interview with Prime Time, the State Chairman of the National Public Service negotiation council, Kano state chapter, Comrade Hashim A. Saleh disclosed that the state government through the office of the head of civil service (HOS) has setup a nine member technical committee tasked with the responsibility of coming up with achievable ways of implementing new wage.
He said, “The technical committee sat for two times and they were given the mandate of two weeks to submit their report. I can assure you that the report will soon be ready before the main committee for the immediate implementation of the scale and I believed that Kano workers will soon smile”.
“The issue of the national minimum wage will be sorted out here, because the state government has made several pronouncements of its readiness to implement the new scale. Ganduje is a workers friendly governor and he will fulfill his promise and pay more as against the federal government N30, 000”.
